Our Story

We first met back in 2016 when we both moved to London in September. Anna had just qualified as a children's nurse and was starting her first job at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children and Reginaldo had come to London from Brazil to study for his master's degree in biomedical science. 

We met at our church, The Metropolitan Tabernacle, in London. However, it took 4 years (1 1/2 years of which Reginaldo was living back in Brazil) before Anna finally agreed to court Reginaldo. That was in 2020, the year of COVID lockdowns, Boris' stay-at-home mandate, 'bubbles', and the rule of six - so at first, phone calls, video calls and walks outside were the only way we could talk and meet up. The winter of 2020-2021 was long and very cold, with lots of walking or sitting and talking outside on benches in the early days!

It gradually improved and we were able to spend more time together, and became more and more certain that marriage was the right decision. In January, we flew to Brazil so that Anna could meet Reginaldo's family, then in April, Reginaldo proposed! Obviously, Anna said 'Yes' or we wouldn't be here today! 

We are very thankful to the Lord, who has brought us together across two continents and has guided us every step of the way. We are very happy and excited to be able to announce our wedding plans and pray that the day will be a blessing to everyone who is able to join us.
